Pedestrian Bridge at Petco Park, San Diego
Last week I spent some time photographing San Diego at night. This pedestrian bridge connects the Hilton San Diego Bayfront with Petco Park (home of the Padres). I thought the lighting on the bridge and the architecture would create a nice opportunity for HDR. I waited a few hours after the game for the foot traffic to die down, grabbed the camera and tripod, and snapped a few from the top of the steps. Hope you enjoy!

Macro
A little macro work today with oil and water. These were shot with a Canon 180mm Macro lens, tripod, colorful balloon fabric, Pyrex baking dish, and a Ziploc bag with a hole in it. Hope you enjoy!

“Candyland”
Cottonwood Canyon road winds nearly 30 miles on its way to Grosvenor Arch in southern Utah. The arch itself is a great find, but along the way there is a spot that reminds me of Candyland. The rocks jut out in every direction and the colors are like no other area I’ve been to. The view from the opposite direction is equally amazing, but there are often hikers parked along the road which are more easily avoided by this composition. Hope you enjoy!

Wahweap Hoodoos
Wahweap Hoodoos
Grand Staircase-Escalante
National Monument
The Wahweap Hoodoos are an amazing site. They are described by many as toadstools and are over 100 million years old. The column is Entrada Sandstone and is capped by Dakota Sandstone which was once the sea floor. This area is best explored before sunrise to scout the location. Once your tripod is mounted, prepare for the rising sun’s glow to illuminate this wonder. Hope you enjoy!

Halo Butte
Sometimes turning around and looking behind you on a hike is a good idea! I would never have noticed this composition had I not slowed down and changed my perspective. I think the black and white processing with the vignette creates an angelic feel. Hope you enjoy!

Torch Light
Another in the series from my trip to Page. It seems that every time I go to Page I am drawn to stop at Antelope Canyon. As the light from above bounces off the walls of the canyon it creates stunning compositions. The light from this one forms a “torch” in my mind, and the HDR processing brings out the details. Enjoy!
